I like you humor, sometimes your self-deprecation (although I don't like a whole lot of that) and your apparent sincerity. Accordingly, I will definitely try to read the stuff.

I like you, but I must confess that your subject matter is not my cup of tea. You speak of spirituality, but that word sounds so vague and syrupy that when I hear that something is spiritual, I tend to turn away with nausea. My background is Marxian and materialist. I am not using the word materialist as most laymen would. By materialist, I mean this: What one has, in terms of money and property, looms very large in one's life. As a Marxian materialist, I believe that sojourns into the spiritual are a diversion from what we should be doing: Taking from the rich SOBs and giving to the Poor.

As for depression: I have always been impressed with what Fritz Perls had to say in "Ego Hunger and Aggression." He said: "Depression is anger turned inwards against oneself." Someone shafted you. You lack either the means or the guts to avenge your loss. You turn the anger against oneself in depression.

Take a good look at sons of bitches. Often, they are not at all depressed; they direct their anger outwards.

I have an essay on substack in which I said that rich people are often not the least bit depressed because they have stolen the life-bread of poor people. (Their anger is directed outwards) I suggest a cure to the depression and poverty of poor people: Furious agitation against the rich. https://davidgottfried.substack.com/p/igniting-the-fire-that-can-deliver
